Mona Lisa Variations.
An ongoing project transforming Leonardo da Vinciās Mona Lisa as a way to test the breaking point between recognition and abstraction. Repetition plays a key role, exploring the idea of reworking the same image over and over again. The project continues a long tradition of artists manipulating or appropriating the Mona Lisa, such as Andy Warhol and Marcel Duchamp. If you can imagine any of these on your wall, prints are available at House of Printed Matter.
